Pool House Design

Summer is coming to an end and the pools are closing...but NOT this one!  Bonus, this pool house can stay open all year round!

Take a look...

Outside the pool house looking down from the deck of the house...not too shabby!  My client says it feels like the "Taj Mahal"---haha!

This space is family friendly, carrying the "outside/water theme" throughout!  The concrete floor is stained a beautiful blue color and gives the feeling of moving water.  The giant, tropical plant really gives the room life and a burst of outside color!  The natural light floods the entire room, making it feel incredibly comfortable and inviting! Perfection.

These large sliding glass doors really make an HUGE impact on the inside of this room., even with pergola roof over outside of the pool house. The natural light pours in all day and truly makes the outside feel like it is inside the pool house...absolutely stunning!

The vaulted ceiling is painted a light blue, appropriately named Fountain Spout by Benjamin Moore. The ceiling color is a fun detail and helps balance/mirror the stained concrete floor.  The warm white white of the walls is Greek Villa by Sherwin Williams.

All of the furniture and finishes are waterproof and kid friendly, which was the clients NUMBER ONE MUST when designing this pool house.  The couch and modular chairs from the Maya Collection found at Room and Board are specially designed as pool house friendly furniture. They are upholstered in a water and stain resistant Sunbrella fabric...the charcoal color is rich and the detail of zigzag stitching gives it a fun punch!.  Indoor/outdoor rugs were a must for wet, slippery feet!  We like how these rugs from Ballard Designs anchor the space with the black and cream dotted pattern...all are from the Marina collection.  The bonus to these rugs is that they can be cleaned by spraying them with a hose and drying them in the sun.

This large flatscreen TV was on the list of "must-haves"  and is beautifully flanked by professional photography taken by the homeowner of her family.  All of the photos add to the water theme the space, as all of the photos are taken at their pool, lake house, or on family vacations that always involve water!

RSI Kitchen and Bath helped design the kitchen and really maximize their storage.  The white cabinetry, the stainless steel appliances, the polished nickel faucets and knobs, and the Quartz countertops in the White Diamond finish all give this space a clean, light feeling.  But the real SHOWSTOPPER is the glass tile backsplash in the light bluish aqua color.  It is like a piece of art and is absolutely beautiful!

This kitchen island was custom crafted by Reclaim Renew and is a nice extension, at 30" by 72", of the kitchen to serve food or simply have a cold cocktail around!

This coffee table was custom crafted by Reclaim Renew.  We chose a 40 by 40 inch square to maximize the surface for snacks or playing games.

All in the details...

These prints of Maryland really are special to the homeowners.  One of my clients is from Oxford, Maryland and she loves her hometown!  She purchased these prints while visiting and knew they were the perfect addition for the pool house.  Check out this talented artist, Erick Sahler

This fan from Lamps Plus is perfect for this space as it matches the brushed nickel of the kitchen and wood of the coffee and bar table with its walnut blades.  The juxtaposition of the sleekness of the metal and the warmth of the walnut blades helps to add layers of interest even when looking up!

It is hard not to touch this gorgeous glass tiled backsplash again and again when you are in this pool house.  The color is so beautiful that you feel like you are touching the water on a Caribbean Island.  Simply stunning.

These tables are made from reclaimed wood and the metal frames were left in their natural state. The natural finish on the metal adds interest, gives it an industrial feel, and matches the charcoal color of the sofa and chairs.
